How INHR Levels the UN Playing Field For You

Capacity Building for Small States & Civil Society Covers Health, Rights & Sustainability

INHR is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to improving access to the United Nations and enhancing the effectiveness of small and mid-sized states and NGOs.  Trade associations, foundations, NGOs and UN member states use our services to improve their profile and effectiveness with UN agencies on issues of sustainability, human rights, health and disarmament.  We have helped companies understand health implications of UN resolutions, shown lawyers how to advocate for accountability, and helped NGOs fund environmentally sustainable supply chains. Through offices in Geneva, Brussels, the U.S. and London, we train on climate change, women's participation, fundraising and more. Our free student legal advisor program for small delegations in Geneva and negotiation training for new Human Rights Council members help level the playing field for governments too.

Demystifying Artificial Intelligence and Risk-Based Regulation for Tech Companies and Governments

Since 2018, our team of diplomats, lawyers, computer scientists and military experts has participated in cutting-edge international discussions of how to use new AI tools for good and how to enhance global peace and development through safe use of AI applications.  We take a risk-mitigation approach, recognizing that AI has tremendous potential to help our societies, but acknowledging that certain applications - such as those involving weapons, biosecurity, privacy and human rights - require special safeguards. On this score, we think the US and China can work together to create safer standards and practices. Our statements to UN meetings offer a balanced view as opposed to over-regulation or outright bans proposed by some ill-informed UN agencies.

Health Programming to Save Lives

Saving lives is the motivating priority behind everything INHR does, from mediating international conflict to promoting better health outcomes. Within the UN's health agencies and through bilateral engagements, we try to reduce the spread of synthetic opioids and underscore the intersection between health and human rights.  Our work to bring the US and China to cooperate on stopping fentanyl stretches from Beijing to Washington, and the UN to Mexico. Elsewhere, INHR has campaigned for reproductive health and rights, for improving the free flow of health information, and for preserving  medical neutrality for health workers. Elsewhere, we aim to curtail the flow of fentanyl precursors and incorporate mental health into human rights discussions.

Private Sector Support & Conflict Mediation

Our diverse team offers a range of services - from mediating government conflicts  to support for private companies and NGOs  in the tech, security, and sustainability sectors.
